BLUE/AZUL highlights the vastness of the African Diaspora and its cultures by creating a space where writers and critic of color can explore different perspectives and experiences.
BLUE/AZUL brings pieces that chronicle the work of Black art collectives across the diaspora, such as in Brazil, Colombia, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Artists Leticia Sanchez Garris and Coleman Collins reconstruct their memories of movements and travel routes through writing. Art criticism from Cuba and Brazil map exhibition-making outside the Global North, highlighting the work of curators and artists of color.
